Works by Women is a not-for-profit organization that supports theatrical work written, directed, and/or designed by women* by promoting their work on our website, in the press and on social media. We list productions that have at least a 50% female creative team, and highlight women's theatre companies and advocacy groups. We also host a database of female*playwrights, directors, and designers whose work we have seen through Works by Women. In addition, Works by Women organizes "Play" Dates to attend theatre productions, thus supporting with our time and money women theatre artists and the productions that hire them. With any fundraising received we will continue our mission of creating awareness and equality for Women in theatre using marketing and PR for theatre productions including strategies such as brochures, posters, flyers, and other print or web based advertising. Also, facilitating programs to encourage monetary support and the connection of artists, such as, the organization of groups to attend productions, networking events, and databasing of current female-identifying writers, directors, and designers. Funds will enable us expand our outreach and scope of our mission for Parity!
